Library materials may be checked out by members for one month at a time. There is a 50 cent fee for each book or magazine and a $1.00 fee for each DVD or VHS tape that is checked out. A Reverence For Wood by Eric Sloane (B457A & B457B) This is an entertaining and educational book about wood and its role in the development of American life and culture. There is a wealth of information regarding the characteristics of wood including a very useful discussion of wood movement. These two copies of this book were generously donated to the library by Ray Stanek.

American Woodturner on CD (DVD145, DVD146, & DVD147) This is a 3 CD set that contains archival copies of the American Woodturner, the Journal of the American Association of Woodturners. These CDs are for use on your PC. The first CD contains Volumes 1-8, published from 1986 through 1993. The second CD contains Volumes 9-16, published from 1994 through 2001. The third CD contains Volumes 16- 21, published from 2002 through 2006. Not all material within an issue is included. Dated material such as the calendar, board election, auctions, most advertising, etc., is not included. A cumulative index is included on each CD. Purchased with Library funds.

Sharpening Demystified by Kirk DeHeer (DVD143) This DVD contains a complete and concise guide to sharpening your woodturning tools. This video has something for every turner at every skill level. Subjects covered include: setting up your grinder, choosing a wheel, dressing the wheel, accessorizing your grinder, techniques for hand sharpening and jig sharpening various types of tools, and hand sharpening a chain saw. This DVD was generously donated to the library by Kirk DeHeer.
