Davis Public Library - June 2010

Nor-Calwoodturners display their work at the Davis Public Library each June. The display had been maintained by Charles Brownold for at least 20 years until his passing last year. This year the display was set up my Norm Hinman and Martin Harris.

Empty Bowls - March 2010

Nor-Calwoodturners participated in Empty Bowls, a fundraiser for River City Food Bank. Officially the Empty Bowls and Potters' Market, this year was the first for wooden bowls. Nor-Cal turners contributed 93 bowls, some of which are shown opposite (Photo by Norm Hinman). Nor-Cal was represented by Martin Harris at the Empty Bowls Dinner the night before. Ted Young, who contributed the most bowls (17), won a complimentary ticket to the lunch and took the three photos on the left below. The one on the right below was taken by Cheryl Chamber, Empty Bowls Coordinator. Our bowls were very well received and snapped up by diners. Two have sent emails through our website to thank us!
