Update. The schedule says the project is a Simple Box.   A "simple" box is a relative thing.  Lots of steps, and we have lots of beginning students.

So we are going to do something new: A Critter.

Kind of egg shaped.  Mounted on chuck, butt first.  Pointy nose.  Hand drill for tail and eyes.  Color eyes and nose with sharpie.  Whiskers optional.  2-1/2" - 3" blank.  I will have a kit with stuff for each critter.

I think it will be fun, and worth a try.  Make one or two for show and tell for the students.

See you at class,  Jerry

Work with students, one on one, teaching the basics of spindle and bowl turning and completing a project they can be proud of.

Each week a Lead Coach facilitates a new project.  The schedule HERE shows who is lead coach and what the project is.  Read the procedure for the project HERE.

Practice the project and bring in a sample for show and tell.  Scan your wood pile to bring in always needed blanks for the project.

We start at 9am to allow for setup time and to do a quick walkthru of the project storyboard and details for coaches.

Members of all skill levels are invited to participate. Novices can observe and learn along with the students.
