Update: The schedule says the project is a Bowl But the kids have done a lot of bowls, and they enjoyed doing Critters on May 5th. This is the last class of the year so we decided to have fun making some more of these guys.
Kind of egg shaped. Mounted on chuck, butt first. Pointy nose. Hand drill for tail and eyes. Color eyes and nose with sharpie. Whiskers optional. 2-1/2" - 3" blank. I will have a kit with stuff for each critter.
So join us, scheduled or not, and celebrate the end of a great year.
If there are no kids in need of coaching turn one of these yourself.
Work with students, one on one, teaching the basics of spindle and bowl turning and completing a project they can be proud of.
Each week a Lead Coach facilitates a new project. The schedule HERE shows who is lead coach and what the project is. Read the procedure for the project HERE.
Practice the project and bring in a sample for show and tell. Scan your wood pile to bring in always needed blanks for the project.
We start at 9am to allow for setup time and to do a quick walkthru of the project storyboard and details for coaches.
Members of all skill levels are invited to participate. Novices can observe and learn along with the students.
