Neal DeVore will be teaching our last session until September while we take a summer break. Note that this session incorporates all the skills learned from previous sessions starting in January using natural edge, basic bowl, mushroom and other turning techniques.
Member must be familiar with both pull and push cuts with the bowl gouge and able to "ride the bevel". Not a beginner session.
Session will show attendees how to mount square blank on a screw chuck. Turn an ogee shape on back of 7x7 blank and define a 50mm tenon for reversing. Blank will then be reversed into the Nova chuck and the face will be turned to match the defined back shape. Sanding will be discussed as well as possible texturing and coloring.
Al Stirt YouTube video which is quite long can be viewed by skipping to the actual turning portion https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mg0wuh_SapE&t=1818s
