Phil Rose - Split Turning
Each month on the 4th Tuesday at 6:30 pm we have a monthly meeting (except November and December). This month we'll Phil Rose Zooming in a demo on "Split Turning". This is how Phil describes his demo:
I will walk through the steps of creating one of my split turned pieces from basic wood through finishing and embellishment ideas. Typically, I embed fused glass into the piece, but other options will be discussed, including acrylic 3-d painting techniques, carving, and other embellishments.
We'll have "show and tell" where members share what they have been working on. There is also plenty of good company.
For February we are going to try to do a "hyrbid" meeting. We'll meet at the VFW in person and have Phil's demo Zoomed into the room for those at the meeting to see. If you can't make it to the VFW Hall you can watch it over Zoom. All members will get an email with instructions.
