This month Barrett Drawdy will be demonstrating how to make a Richard Raffan style kitchen spatula from a 3/4” board. They can also be made from scraps leftover from making turning blanks.
Barrett will be turning the handle and showing how to complete them using a bandsaw and belt sander. He’ll also discuss how to make spoons and other utensils using the same methods and how to complete them if you don’t have a belt sander.
Don't forget to bring something for the Member's Gallery and/or the President's Challenge. This month's challenge is to turn "something from the sky". This can be very loosely interpreted. Maybe a bird, a bird nest, a bird house, a cloud, the moon, a platter with a sky scene or ?? Use your imagination.
You can also bring items to donate to the Raffle if you have something in your shop you don't need anymore.
