Emerging Bowl
Each month on the 4th Tuesday at 6:30 pm we have a monthly meeting (except November and December). We have a demonstration on woodturning and "show and tell" where members share what they have been working on. There is also plenty of good company.
This month, our club member, Barry Stephens, will demonstrate “How to create an “Emerging Bowl”; an artistic piece representing what lathe turning is all about …… i.e. - resurrecting a discarded tree limb to expose something beautiful and hidden inside. Barry will cover the steps and tricks to create these unique, “How’d you do that?” bowls.
No need to sign up, just come to the Veterans Hall. Bring something you've turned to share with the group. Bring a bowl for the Empty Bowls fundraiser for River City Food Bank. Or make a Wig Stand for hospital patients. You can also bring items to donate to the Raffle if you have something in your shop you don't need anymore.
Oh, and don't forget the President's Challenge! This month it is: Embellishments - Add some Texture, carvings or Decorations to something you have turned.
