Far West Forest Products
Each month on the 4th Tuesday at 6:30 pm we have a monthly meeting (except November and December). We have a demonstration on woodturning, "show and tell" where members share what they have been working on, and a "President's Challenge" where members make something special each month. January's President's Challenge is to make a Pen.
This month we will have a representative from Far West Forest Products. Far West is a member of the Urban Wood Network and is working towards offering only USRW Certified Urban Wood as well as Forest Salvage wood that would otherwise go to waste.
Urban Wood is any wood that was not harvested for its timber value and was diverted from or removed from the waste-stream and developed or redeveloped into a product. Urban wood can come from three sources: Deconstruction, fresh cut urban trees, & salvaged wood.
No need to sign up, just come to the Veterans Hall. Bring something you've turned to share with the group. You can also bring items to donate to the Raffle if you have something in your shop you don't need anymore.
