Each month on the 4th Tuesday at 6:30 pm we have a monthly meeting (except November and December). We have a demonstration on woodturning, "show and tell" where members share what they have been working on, and a "President's Challenge" where members make something special each month. There is also plenty of good company.
This month Marcel Vital will be talking about building a Spring Pole Lathe:
I would like to share my experience building and using a lathe based on descriptions and drawings from the late 1600s. The majority of the components being made from wood. While trying to locate information on building a traditional Long Bow, I came across something called a Spring Pole Lathe. The idea was distracting enough that I had to make a file specifically for this project so I could get back to making the Bow. As they say, the rest is history. Marcel Vital

No need to sign up, just come to the Veterans Hall. Bring something you've turned to share with the group. You can also bring items to donate to the Raffle if you have something in your shop you don't need anymore.
Hope to see you there!
