Each month on the 4th Tuesday at 6:30 pm we have a monthly meeting (except November and December). We have a demonstration on woodturning, "show and tell" where members share what they have been working on, and a "President's Challenge" where members make something special each month. There is also plenty of good company.
This month we will have Carl Jacobson zooming a demonstration into the VFW hall.
Carl Jacobson started woodworking with his grandfather as a young boy in Oregon. He continued woodworking through high school and started wood turning after seeing a turned project in a friend's shop. Shortly after YouTube started, he was looking for a how-to video for duck calls. With no results he decided to make his own video. He is now turning full time and producing his own videos. Almost eight years later, he has over 100 thousand YouTube subscribers. Many intricate shapes and designs can be made by turning wood. Some of Carl’s fondest memories are working with his grandfather in his wood shop. Being able to share his passion for wood turning with others ties it all together.
No need to sign up, just come to the Veterans Hall. Bring something you've turned to share with the group. You can also bring items to donate to the Raffle if you have something in your shop you don't need anymore.
Hope to see you there!
