This demonstration offers an exploration of embellishment techniques for turned or sculpted forms. We will show how to build a solid foundation in design fundamentals while exploring a variety of decorative possibilities through carving, texturing, pyrography, coloring, and finishing.
Instruction covers strategies for drawing on diverse influences, generating personal design ideas, and selecting and preparing wood for carving and embellishment. Through demonstrations, participants can learn power carving, woodburning, making and using various woodburner tips, as well as the application of acrylic and milk paints, paste waxes, and other finishing options.
